About Me

Inspirational Quote

I am a single mom, raising two beautiful girls and a successful business owner of Little Sprouts Childcare and Coaching and Consulting by Lisa. The childcare industry has been my passion since I was young and I’m approaching 31 years of experience in this field. I was blessed in my early years to have had an amazing mentor, and I strive to be the same to my employees and people in my life. It took a lot of work to find that happy transition from work to life balance, setting healthy boundaries for my peace of mind and in turn allowing me to stay positive. I practice self care!

High achieving men and women are wired to burn out, but it doesn’t have to be this way. There is always a good time to get “unstuck”. Traits that I bring to the table in my business and personal life include compassion, motivation, empowerment, authenticity, flexibility, confidence, experience, good communication, empathy and positivity. I promote self care to the fullest. In the world we are living in, it should be a priority.

To my child care industry friends - in whatever role you play in this field - first and foremost thank you!!! Our industry is tired, underpaid and overworked. You are much more than a child care provider. You play the role of a second parent, nurse, janitor, teacher, comforter, mentor, cook, personal shopper, and the list goes on. You are raising tiny humans and as rewarding as this is, it’s mentally, emotionally and physically draining at times. You are required to train, certify, hold credentials, and you set out everyday with priority being the safety of the children you care for. We need to set out on a journey of protecting the mental well being of our tireless industry of care givers. We need self care and we need services promoting it. Our industry is burnt out.

Research shows from 2002 a Yale study reported that 66.5% of childcare providers were currently experiencing moderate to high levels of stress. 45.7% of childcare professionals screened positive for depression. Now that was 2002. My research doesn’t support a positive change in these percentages.

When we are at our best, we thrive and the industry thrives.

Thank you for reading a little bit about me and my passions. I hope to promote self care, confidence and change in a positive way! Sometimes it takes a new relationship, an unbiased person in your life to turn to, trust and guide. I hope you consider me for your journey.
